Kanade's last name is made to counter Mafuyu's last name (Asahina). Yoisaki (宵崎): Yoi (宵) means "night", and Saki (崎) means "peninsula". Determined to save Mafuyu with her music, she swears that she will continue writing, even if her talent is a curse to her. Her savior complex is evident where she feels like she's failed as a musician if her music does not serve her intended purpose to help others. Haunted by what her music had done to her father, as the cause of her trauma, Kanade swears to make music that will save anyone. She lacks a consistent sleep schedule and usually just falls asleep while she's working. She also does not take care of herself well, eating cup noodles for almost every meal and struggling with basic household tasks. As a result of being a shut-in, Kanade has a weak physical condition. She is more sensitive to sunlight than other people. However, she occasionally goes outside to visit her father in the hospital, meet up with her unit, or buy new electronics equipment. Kanade rarely leaves the house and spends most of her time composing music. As well as this, Kanade will urge other circle members to rest whilst continuing to push herself to make more and more songs. Incredibly hardworking to the point of skipping sleep and overworking herself, she puts almost too much effort into her work. She aspires to make other people happy with her music as her father once did. Kanade appears to be very accepting and sympathetic towards her fellow circle members they are grateful for her and the group she created. Her casual outfit consists of a dark blue jacket with white stripes, and worn partially unzipped. In the official image for her unit outfit, she holds a bulky black-and-pink wireless headset. In Kanade's 3D model, the gradient sleeves are long enough to completely cover her hands. Its hood is tied at the middle with a black and red ribbon. Her unit outfit is a stylized school uniform, though she doesn’t attend school, and consists of a long, puffy hoodie-like jacket with a gradient that starts at white and fades to an ashy dark grey. Her mouth curves slightly when she smiles, and her eyes soften. Though her mouth doesn’t move often, her eyes and eyebrows narrow and crease when she’s concerned or focused, and widen and rise when she’s curious. Her face generally stays in a resting state, as seen in her profile. Kanade’s expressions are slight, but noticeable. Her voice is soft and calm, yet full of sorrow. Her fringe is tucked to both sides, save for a long section in the middle that almost reaches down to her nose, and her face is framed by a fairly long strand of hair on either side. Kanade has blue eyes and very long, grayish-white hair. Kanade now makes songs in an attempt to save at least one person and is the composer for 25-ji, Nightcord de. ![]() However, she rediscovered her mother's old music box and realized that she must keep going in order to write songs that will bring happiness to others. For a short amount of time, she considered starving herself, wondering if she would disappear if she just stopped eating food. Kanade was consumed with guilt and blamed her father's condition on herself. He was rushed to the hospital, the psychological stress affecting his memory badly. He could not match Kanade's style of music despite his best efforts and overworked himself to the point of breaking down. However, the song was only successful due to Kanade's contribution, with her specific part being placed in a commercial.Īfterwards, her father gathered many new clients who asked him to create music that was similar to the song used in the commercial. ![]() ![]() After Kanade added her melody and her father submitted the song, it eventually won the competition. She offered to help by writing a part for it, which he accepted. One day, when Kanade came into her father's office to tell him that dinner was ready, she saw him frustrated over a song he was composing for a contest, insistent that something was missing. Kanade's father recognized her talent and said that she was "blessed by music", often praising her for her musical creations. ![]() Her father was a musician who made a living off of commissions. When Kanade was young, her mother fell ill and passed away.
